bs-mall brush reviews-Beauty journey
The BS mall is a set of brushes that come in a set of 10 to 18 different brushes to cover every single brush that someone might need to use for a makeover. Delivering these many brushes as a kit is quite a good feat but only if it holds up in terms of quality. Sure, at a discounted price, you have to cut corners somewhere or the other but let’s look at the brushes in the kit and then decide on whether it represents good value.
Let’s explore what brushes are there !
Angled eyebrow and eyelash brush:
This is widely regarded as the standard brush for your eyebrows and eyelashes and as such, is a definite inclusion in all sets of BS mall brushes in some variation or the other and features also in this particular set of brushes. As the name suggests, it is slightly angulated to make it easier to draw lines on your brows with more precision. A good pick for your eyes all around.
Angled Brush:
This is a brush popularly used in contouring and bringing out the richness and details of your facial features. This brush tends to have quite a big surface area for applying the contour around the cheeks as a whole and will be less precise but let you cover a much wider area for more diffusion of the contour product
Face flat brush:
This is the brush that is ubiquitously used for applying foundation and therefore, was an obvious inclusion into the brush set by Mall. Foundation is the base of all makeovers a person has to do and unsurprisingly, will be what you have to learn quite early into the learning curve of makeup artistry.
Taper brush:
Even though the use is probably not completely apparent from the name, it is used to taper of powder and liquid makeup you have already applied in order to attain a more evenly diffused and more natural look. Its inclusion in the list I imagine is to let you correct for overdoing any particular layer of makeup.
Blending brush:
This brush is another commonly used brush and will need to be used to let you blend out your contours or other makeup products. This brush is slightly on the bigger side to let you blend out smoothly and into a very light layer for a natural glow.
Angled eyeshadow brush:
The angled eyeshadow brush is a staple in eye makeup and is used to apply eyeshadow in the crease of the eyes. Needless to say, you need this brush at an angle because the crease is obviously not a flat surface area and you’ll be well served to use it with caution to be precise
Precision brush:
It is a very thin brush and is included to let you do your eye makeup that is eyeshadow or eyebrows, with as much precision as possible. Needless to say, this is one of the more high-skill brushes in this set and you’ll need to learn how to apply it cautiously. Put in the time though because it lets you cover corners with great accuracy and means you get things right the first time.
Nose brush:
This is a small brush again, that is included in the set by Mall in order to let you contour the details around your nose. Contouring the nose is a way to make your nose appear different and therefore, is an interesting illusion that you can do with this brush.
Detail brush:
The detail brush is a high precision brush again, that is used to contour around your cheekbones and will let you add details around your cheeks to alter their appearance. This is another brush that is going to help you alter your cheeks in a very interesting way and create illusions that look pleasing to the eye.
Eyebrow and eyelash brush:
This is the regular edition of the lash and brow brush and it differs from its counterpart in that it is a flat brush and will mean that it is less precise and more evenly diffusing than the angulated edition. It will not be as useful as the other one but it does act as a substitute for the angulated version in case something happens to it and you are lacking something to do the brows and lashes. Can’t be too safe!
Angled detail brush:
Another brush that lets you contour your cheekbones, this is really used to draw lines over your cheekbones directly before you use a different shade and brush for the areas around it. Yes, I know, if you’re new to this, it doesn’t make a ton of sense! After you do a bit more research, I promise you it will make some more sense! Just know that it’s useful!
Eyeliner brush:
Of course, Mall decided to include an eyeliner brush just to finish the list of eye makeup products. It is a staple as well nowadays for eye makeup and let’s be real, you probably do know a thing or two about eyeliner by now. A good eyeliner really makes your eyes stand out and give it quite a unique appearance.
Concealer brush:
Human beings like to conceal their shortcomings and to hide the blemishes and marks on your face, the concealer brush lets you apply concealer product on blemishes and lets you hide your spots from your peers.
Flat angled brush:
The flat angled brush is used for contouring, unlike the flat brush and the angulated shape lets you contour around the cheeks because they are shaped slightly unevenly. Again, a slightly more unorthodox brush but when you have a set of 16, a brush of this type will usually be included and Mall definitely agree on that front.
Powder brush:
The name speaks volumes. It is a very wide brush and is used to take up loads of powder to pat onto your face in a very light layer. Very standard brush and of course, a brand like Mall, which has been making brushes for quite some time now include them.
Round brush:
This brush is a blush brush to apply blush around your cheeks to get that slightly reddish effect that looks awfully cute! It takes a decent amount of the product onto the bristles and then evenly lays it out over the area of application. Do take it easy with this because you want a blush, not a red face! Pick what you love
SO WE’VE GONE OVER ALL THE DIFFERENT BRUSHES. WHY SHOULD YOU PICK THIS OVER OTHER BRUSH SETS THOUGH?
Here’s why you will love bs-mall!
Gentle
The bristles on most of these brushes are quite mushy and dense so you shouldn’t be having problems with how it feels and the density of the bristles. If you have bruises on your face, you can be reasonably sure that the brush definitely isn’t the source of these. Having a product that feels good on your skin is essential and in general, going to be a product that you enjoy.
Warranty
If you find any defects or problems with the products shortly after the purchase, you will understandably want something to compensate and Mall, to meet your demands, are going to offer warranty up to 12 months so if anything happens to your brushes in that time, you can expect them to send replacements for you to use.
Guide
Products from Mall typically include their own guide so that you know how to use each brush and how to keep them clean. Knowing how to identify each brush and how to use them is definitely a big part when you are just beginning to get into the makeup game and this is going to be something a lot of beginners are thankful for when they are just starting out.
Standard Size
The brushes are also a very good size for portability and the box that it comes in with is quite a nifty size that fits into a bag really easily. Given that it is more complicated and slightly dangerous to carry around more expensive brushes in tight spaces, this product won’t hurt your wallet all that much and is perfect fodder to carry around when you need to do makeovers away from home.
Smart case
Speaking on the topic of the case, the case is made of semi-premium leather and feels quite good to the touch so I imagine it won’t give away all too easily. Having a quality cover for your brushes is essential to keep them safe and the box itself is a sleek black and looks quite good if you care about things like that!
lovely color
The brush set comes in several color sets that are easy on the eye. These colors are rose gold and champagne golden and they are all quite fancy in color and look more premium than most other products at this price range.
Drawbacks for bs-mall
Nothing can be fully perfect for all in all aspects. BH cosmetics brush sets are not too. Let us find out why you may not go for them. However, go throgh the bellow-mentioned points before thinking negative.
For a starter set, 16 brushes might be overwhelming for a lot of users! Understandably too; a beginner to the craft probably needs like five to get started and after getting a hang of the basics, then move onto the more difficult stuff. You certainly don’t need to start with that many!
The brushes are not attached directly to the handles and as a result, a lot of users found that the bristles were falling off. A lot of users, to deal with this, had to glue the bristles to the body using something instead. Now, I don’t know about you but I certainly don’t get my products if I have to provide after-sale service myself to get it up and running! That too, if it’s an adhesive requiring item!
They do well but they’re nothing close to performing like high-end brushes, which they seem to claim that these brushes are. They are at a budget so of course, that is to be expected but in that case, do not go around making claims you can’t back up!
Finally, there are a good number of brushes that are similar and therefore, you don’t end up using all of them. Sure, you could opt for the set with fewer brushes but that sort of defeats the purpose of having a 16 piece kit, to begin with!
Last Message
So there you have it, a rundown of all the brushes and what they are used for and some things that are good about them followed by others that do not exactly shine like a bright star. Again, price definitely is a big consideration for the majority of users and if you are someone restricted quite a bit by price, you’ll more than enjoy this product. It has its drawbacks but it has many good sides to it as well and with a warranty, it is going to last you at least a year to use the time and get to use a decent brush set! You’ll be upgrading to much better brushes but you won’t have too many good opportunities to have these many good brushes in such a price-friendly package!
