We’re not talking about the tools you use to apply it too. We’re talking about the actual makeup that you apply. If not, here are the quick guide to cleaning makeup with Isopropyl alcohol.

We apply makeup for a lot of reasons. To look good, to feel good, or maybe we are attending an important function. Others don’t use makeup that much, while some use it regularly. The point is, we all own a makeup kit, and since we apply it on our skin most especially our face, then have you thought about cleaning it?

The first thing that you should remember is that you’re going to apply alcohol differently with each type or kind of makeup.

For powders and palettes

For these kinds of makeup, then you should utilize a spray bottle. Pour some isopropyl alcohol in it and then spray some on your powders and palettes and let it dry naturally.

Liquid foundation

For liquid foundation, use a cotton round. Dip it in your isopropyl alcohol and then clean the bottle and cap of the foundation with it.

Pencils and Sharpeners

Grab your eyeliners, lip pencils, and concealer pencils and use isopropyl alcohol in them too. All that you need is to grab a bowl, fill it with the isopropyl alcohol, and then soak your sharpener for about 5 minutes. On the other hand, the pencils should also be sprayed with alcohol and then wiped with a cotton round.

Why do we need to clean our makeup?

As if there is any question about it. Uncleansed makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria and may infect your skin terribly. Well, we understand why you’d think it wasn’t necessary to begin with as we are almost always used to cleaning the tools we use for application, like say brushes.

Cleaning your makeup also ensures that the integrity of what you are applying to your skin is top-notch, and the quality of the product is 100% pure. In turn, your makeup will work just as you expect them to.

Why Isopropyl alcohol and any alternative?

Experts suggest using 70% Isopropyl alcohol and not ethyl alcohol when cleaning your makeup. The chemical composition and the power of isopropyl alcohol are ideal for the job. Oils, bacteria, and all sorts of germs may breed on our makeup, so it’s essential to clean it regularly.

And these are just the kind of pathogens isopropyl alcohol can take care of. Also, make sure to wash your hands, disinfect them, and dry them before cleaning your makeup for the best results.

Some alternatives you can use aside from isopropyl alcohol are cleansers, sanitizer mists, or maybe try a 99% Isopropyl alcohol.

If you make it a habit to clean and disinfect your makeup regularly, it ensures that you apply bacteria and germ-free products on your skin. Most especially your face, any infection caused by dirty or unsanitary makeup might do some damage.

Are you concerned about your makeup kit? Go ahead, grab your isopropyl alcohol, and clean them now!
